I am about to move servers and I wish to ask what are the steps to do to move Draupnir
    seamlessly. Thank you!

    Hi A.J.,
My apologies for not replying sooner, I've been a bit busy the past couple days and hadn't checked this message board.

The easiest way to transfer to another server would probably be to use something like the "Copy an account from another server" function which cPanel provides, then make sure that all of the files and directories have the same permission settings on the new server that they have on the existing installation. Also make sure that your cron functions get copied to the new server (the cron settings are listed at the very bottom of the site config page). So long as the permissions settings and owner settings are the same on the new install as on the old one, everything should work.

Another way to do it is to simply start with a fresh install on the new server. Go to the "add trade" page within Draupnir, then at the bottom click on the small link which says "Bulk Import". That will give you instructions about how to format a toplist with your existing installation, that will be formatted correctly so that you can import your trade data into the new installation. Be aware that using this method will not save any contact information such as email or icq, the IP address of the other webmaster, or any notes about the trade.

If you have any further questions about moving your script, please let me know.

  3. Hello Flix,

Is it possible to move by copying Draupnir directories and files from the old server
to the new server instead? Basically, I wish to keep the stats as well as informations
of my trades (trader, icq, etc...). Unfortunately, I do not seem to have the option to
    copy an account in cPanel.

    Kind Regards,
    A.J. Angel

There might be a way to copy the files directly from one server to the other without using cPanel, however that is something which you'd have to ask your host about. Maybe the rsync function would help you, however I've never used that.

If you try to copy everything from your existing server to your local PC, then upload all those files to the new server via FTP, you will have a bunch of errors relating to permission settings and ownership which would take a long time to reset correctly via an SSH client.
